Scholarship Process

University Of Nebraska-Lincoln
Each fall, your chapter advisor will be notified by National via email with a scholarship announcement. A scholarship application and instructions will be attached to that email. The advisor will then distribute the announcement to all Tau Sigma members.
The advisor should determine the deadline for when their chapter's applications should be received by them. When all applications have been received by the advisor, they will select the application(s) of the nominee(s) that will represent the chapter.  All chapters may nominate at least one member to represent the chapter, with larger chapters being allowed to nominate more than one. The scholarship application(s) chosen by the advisor to represent the chapter must be submitted as an email attachment to the Executive Director by the stated deadline, usually mid November.
Scholarship applications received by the deadline will be evaluated by the Tau Sigma Scholarship Review Committee (six Tau Sigma chapter advisors). The Committee will then provide the Executive Director with their rankings of the scholarship applications. The scholarships will be announced in December and awarded in late January.
