The institution must be a 4-year and currently accredited by a regional accrediting association. Four year branch campuses that award baccalaureate degrees may be covered by the blanket accreditation awarded to the parent institution. Exceptions to this requirement can be considered by the National Council.
We normally recommend that a college/university have at least 400 incoming transfer students each year in order to establish a chapter. An institution normally needs this many transfers to have the critical mass needed to establish a functioning chapter.
